DIVINELY DRIVEN

I Am...

After reading this post, I hope you Divah's know how much
I love ya'll.
I'm feeling really selfish right now.
I'm accustomed to receiving this type of inspiration directly to my inbox or phone and NOT sharing. #JudgeMeNot #ThisIsNormallyJustForME

This woman has proven to be a root in my life, and she even managed to read me a little bit in this post!
That's why I luh my BFF, Natalie.
(I will be doing my homework in the comment section below)
ENJOY!

I Am...

I am boundless! I am Plump! I am Smart!! I am uninterested! I am….

I can spend a 3rd of my day starting sentences with the word “I” and many times I am describing something about myself or attaching a label to my existence. I am goofy, I am silly, I am not matching today because I am tastefully tacky because that is just who I AM!

The thing we have to remember about the word “I” is that it is part of something great, something wonderful, something omnipotent, “I” is part of most the brilliant and perfect I AM, our heavenly father. So when you use the word “I” to describe yourself or to explain your situation, know that you were made perfectly by God. After all, you were “created in my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) God does not see you as incompetent or unsuccessful because He would not create anything less than perfect. It may take some work to get in the direction you want to go, and it takes a whole lot of prayer and trust in God to achieve what He wants you to accomplish. But if God our father can see you as the wonderful creation that he made, shouldn’t you see yourself in that way? Even on our worst days, God sees us as beautiful and magnificently made. So next time you find yourself saying “I am”, be sure you recognize that God made you and you are “fearfully and wonderfully made. [His] works are wonderful!! “(Psalm 139:14)

I am Natalie! I am a mother, I am wife, and I am a friend! I love to sing and dance and I think everyone should always have a song in their heart. I believe positivity is the key to life and I think you should have grace with EVERYONE. I think true love is like breathing for air and friendship is like natural sunlight that beams on you when you are taking a selfie-it brings out the best. I believe that life is a journey and you just have to take it one step at a time. I believe we are all Divinely Driven.

Homework: Find 5 flaws or unfavorable situations you think you have. Take some time out and pray over these things. Now take each thing and find a way to describe it in way that is gifted by God. Continue to pray over these things so that God’s grace and favor is blessing each one of these “stepping stones” in your life!!

For example: I am unemployed. I am on God’s time, allowing for him to lead me to where I belong. Pray: God, thank you for allowing me this abundance of time to focus on hearing your call, lead me to where it is I belong and where I will be able to do your will and work.

“DIPPED IN CHOCOLATE, BRONZED IN ELEGANCE, ENAMELED IN GRACE, TOASTED WITH BEAUTY. MY LORD, SHE’S A BLACK WOMAN.”
-Dr. Yosef Ben-Jochannan

Divah’s, if that quote doesn’t make you feel good about yourself, I don’t know what will. The “Divinely Driven” page is here to accomplish the same thing. The posts here are meant to UPLIFT, EMPOWER and INSPIRE YOU!

I have decided to be un-selfish and share my bestie with ya’ll, Ms. Natalie Noel. She is an amazing wife, mother and a constant source of inspiration for me. (Although she checks me quite often, that’s a story for another day!)  Natalie will be sharing content that will help us on our continued journey to become better women.

Prayer for the week:

"Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can anyone deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It's beyond me." ~Zora Neal Hurston

This is absolutely one of my most favorite quotes. I believe the first time I read it was in college. We all know those college years are years of self-discovery and can be a little bumpy. At the time I was dealing with a "friend" who thought it was kind to speak negatively about me behind my back while smiling in my face. I was struggling with the decision of confronting her or just letting the "friendship" die. Strangely enough, even though I was being mistreated, I still felt really sad to have to let her go. That is until I read this fabulous quote. Her actions had denied her the pleasure of my wonderful company.

Understand, you don't want to be in a friendship, romantic relationship or business partnership where you are not wanted. Clearly the other half of the "ship" wouldn't be treating you so badly if they wanted you, right?

Feel the loss for a few minutes then keep on stepping!
