Hey
Divah’s,
In my
first post, let’s do a quick financial check up. I want to help you stay on
track with your New Year’s resolutions to be a little more frugal by saving
more and spending a lot less. Maybe your resolution was to create a budget you
stick to or becoming more aware of your spending habits; I have a few tips to
help you do just that. So let's count these coins shall we......
Now, I
will be the first to say the task of keeping your New Year’s Resolution is not
an easy one by far and you may find yourself off track. If that’s the case, No
worries I will help get you back on track and running towards your
financial goals again.

CREATE A BUDGET:
Start
out by reviewing your previous month’s bank statement. You will see your
spending habits and monthly expenses. Collect all the data and review where you
are spending your coins. Try to reduce frivolous spending. To help stay on budget
purchase gift cards for the amounts you have budgeted. For example if your
monthly grocery budget is $200 , purchase a $200 gift card from the store
where you will do your grocery shopping; This will ensure you only spend the
amount you put on the card.
SAVE A PERCENTAGE OF YOUR
INCOME:
I
recommend setting up an auto transfer for the exact day your paycheck is direct
deposited, and have it placed into a savings account WITHOUT AN ATM
CARD. You won’t miss what you don’t see.
Divah Tip~ Prior to making a purchase ask
yourself: Do I
need it? Do I want it? Will I want it in three days? Can I
find it more reasonably priced?
Remember: Slow and steady wins the race.
